A list tells you whether a name is sanctioned. A status check goes further: it shows where one application or one house stands today, including which installments have been paid. The details you need depend on the scheme. PMAY Gramin uses a registration number. PMAY Urban 2.0 uses your Aadhaar with an OTP.

This is an independent guide, not a government site. We cannot look up your status, and you should never send your Aadhaar, registration number, Application ID or OTP to us or to anyone who calls you. Every check below is done by you, on the official portal.

PMAY-G beneficiary status by registration number

Your registration number is the PMAY-G ID. You can find it on your sanction papers, or in the village-wise Gramin list.

  1. Open the PMAY-G portal at rhreporting.nic.in.
  2. Look for the Stakeholders menu and choose IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary.
  3. Enter the registration number and click Submit. Some versions also ask for the first letters of the name.
  4. Your record opens with sanction details, installments paid and house status.
  5. No number? Use Advanced Search: select state, district, block, panchayat, scheme and financial year, then search by name, BPL number, account number, sanction order, or father or husband name.

These menu names come from third-party guides (Housing.com, February 2024, and sarkariyojana.com, October 2026). Guides also report a newer beneficiary search on awaassoft.pmayg.dord.gov.in, which we could not confirm officially. If the page looks different, look for "Beneficiary" in any menu or ask the block office.

Status check with Aadhaar or mobile for PMAY-G? The rural search options described in our sources do not include Aadhaar or mobile number. Use the registration number or Advanced Search instead.

PMAY 2.0 status by Aadhaar, Application ID or mobile

The official user manual describes this route for PMAY-U 2.0:

  1. Open the PMAY-U 2.0 Unified Web Portal.
  2. Click Login, then Applicant Login. The direct page is Applicant Login.
  3. Type the Aadhaar number and the name exactly as on Aadhaar, then click Generate OTP.
  4. Enter the OTP received on your own Aadhaar-linked mobile and click Submit.
  5. Your submitted application appears. A red Withdraw button under Action withdraws it, so do not press it by mistake.

The portal’s "Track Application Status" menu item points to the same page as the officer login, so citizens should use Applicant Login. The official FAQ also says status can be tracked using a unique user code, Application ID or registered mobile number, and mentions a mobile app, but no official app name was found. Full detail is on PMAY 2.0 track application.

What each rural status means

  • Registered: your household is in the system from the wait list or survey.
  • Sanctioned: a sanction order with a unique PMAY-G ID has been generated in AwaasSoft.
  • Installment paid: money released by DBT into your Aadhaar-linked bank or post office account. The number and size of installments are set by your state.
  • Waiting for next installment: usually means the geo-tagged, time-stamped photo for the current stage has not yet been uploaded or approved. Release is linked to these photos.
  • Completed: the house, including toilet, is finished and the final photo accepted.

Exact labels on screen may differ. For stage-wise amounts by state, see PMAY installment amount. For payment tracking reports such as FTO Tracking, see rhreporting reports.

What each urban 2.0 stage means

  • Application submitted: after Final Save an Application ID is generated. For BLC and AHP it goes to your Urban Local Body; for ISS it goes to the lender (PLI).
  • Under verification: filling the form does not by itself make you eligible. The state, city body, central nodal agency or lender verifies eligibility.
  • Sanctioned: houses are sanctioned in batches. For example, a central committee meeting on 10 September 2026 approved about 29,000 more houses, as reported.
  • BLC payments: released in the ratio 40:40:20 as construction progresses.
  • ISS subsidy: up to Rs 1.80 lakh released in 5 yearly installments. PIB says beneficiaries can check their accounts via website, OTP or smart card.

Installment or payment status delayed: what to do

  1. Check your rural record for installments paid, or your urban application in Applicant Login.
  2. Confirm with your bank that the account is active and linked to Aadhaar, since rural payments are fully Aadhaar-based.
  3. Rural: meet the Gram Panchayat secretary or Block Development Officer. Grievances should be disposed of within 15 days.
  4. Urban: contact your Urban Local Body (BLC, AHP) or lender (ISS). The PMAY-U 2.0 portal lists helpline numbers, collected on PMAY helpline.
  5. Still unresolved: file a complaint on CPGRAMS (pgportal.gov.in) or your state CM helpline.

Keep your status check safe

The OTP for Applicant Login comes to your own phone and is meant only for you. Nobody from any office needs it. Never share OTP, Aadhaar or bank details with unknown callers, and ignore messages offering to "speed up" your installment for a fee. Do not install APK files claiming to show status. Applying and checking status on official portals is free.
